Our First Trip!

We decided to take our first trip with our new camper somewhere close to home for two reasons: 1 - in case we had any major problems, we didn't want to be miles and miles from home and 2 - I had to work Saturday! We ultimately chose Backbone State Park. The campground is only 20 minutes from home, 10 minutes from Toby's grandma and grandpa's house and 15 minutes from work for me.

Thursday night we got everything ready to go. I wanted to take the camper over Friday morning before work to make sure we got a good spot! :) I pulled with no problems. Friday night Hunter and I got to the campground around 5:30 and were completely set-up but 6:30. Not too bad for Mom and Hunter! Toby got there around 7:00. Emily decided to spend the weekend at Rod and Verna's.

For supper we had Foil Chicken Fajitas. They turned out AWESOME! We watched the fire for a bit and were all in bed by 10.

Saturday, I spent the day at work and the boys spent the day fishing and mushroom hunting. I guess they had grilled trout for lunch. See what I miss! We lost the party lights at some point during the day due to the wind but it died back down and we were able to put them back up.

We went to the beach for a while before supper. Hunter had a great time digging in the sand and Cooper loved chasing his stick into the water. For supper, we just made hot dogs and brats over the fire and had smores for dessert. It was a very peaceful quiet night. In the middle of the night however, I woke up to some rattling around. I decided to get up to go to the bathroom and low and behold there was a raccoon eating out of Cooper's bowl! I held Cooper back (while he growled and carried on) while Toby chased the raccoon away. The rest of the night was uneventful. :)

This morning we tried Ziploc omelets. They were actually pretty darned good. We had some tortillas leftover from the fajitas so we made breakfast burritos out of them.
